We sat down with Tate Jackson, former longhorn sprinting ace and member of the Cali Condors during the inaugural ISL season. Tate is one of my favorite people to see on a pool deck. He will always talk to you and he seems to always be in a good mood (at least when he's talking to you). Tate explains why he loves doing clinics, how excited he was for ISL, some of his favorite memories from his NCAA career with Texas, and what the key to being a sprinter is during quarantine.

SwimSwam Podcast: Helen Yee on What ISL Could Take From UFC's Fight Island
Sunday Aug 09, 2020
Sunday Aug 09, 2020
We talked through Helen's swimming years, and how she eventually transitioned to sports reporting, specifically the UFC. Yee's most recent reporting stint was spent on Fight Island, UFC's response to COVID-19 where they had a remote location to host competition on an Island in Abu Dhabi. It sounds very similar to what the ISL has proposed for their shortened 2020-21 season, and the takeaways from UFC's version could be valuable, as they had a lot of success with few to no COVID infections while on the island.

Many college coaches go through several different positions, often uprooting themselves entirely from one city to the next, in search of experience, the right fit, or "the next move". Burandt falls into that category, having been to Oberlin College, Louisville, Georgetown, and Houston before ending up at the helm of Cleveland State.
